Dear UU members and friends,
It is with heavy hearts that we have made the decision to cancel all services and all meetings at the GBAUUF at this time. While we know that being in community with one another certainly is necessary for feeding our spiritual selves, we need to prioritize keeping people safe and support the goal of social distancing.
For the duration of the COVID-19 quarantine, Rev. Christina Leone-Tracy and our friends at Fox Valley UU are providing streaming digital Sunday Services via Zoom and have extended an invitation for members of our beloved GBAUUF community to join in.
To participate, you’ll first need to download and/or test the Zoom App to a computer. (Mobile devices and tablets may not work.) Each Sunday Service requires a new login. Please visit the Fox Valley UU website and follow the posted link for upcoming services. Click here for a tutorial about UU Streaming to Zoom.
Thank you to FVUUF and Fellowship Connections @ A Distance allowing our congregation to virtual visit yours!
Please look to our FaceBook page where you’ll find additional links to lots of other online services and other spiritual resources. Not on FaceBook? Check out this link for 70 UUs that have online services. The national UUA page also has many resources for meditation and prayerfulness.
Most of all, please take care of yourself in this time – physically, yes, but also psychologically and emotionally and spiritually. Your UU family is here to help. Please don’t hesitate to reach out.
And in that light of being vulnerable, we reach out to you…
We recognize that now is a very uncertain time for many people’s finances, but we humbly ask you not to forget about us. We still have monthly mortgage and utility bills despite being unable to use our building. Without services for the foreseeable future, please continue to send in your weekly or monthly pledges via mail. Thank you to those who have set up automatic withdrawals.
In friendship and in solidarity,
Karen Eckberg & Natalie Buhl
