As we begin the month of December and the theme, “Choosing Hope,” we consider what our Unitarian Universalist symbol, the flaming chalice, means in a historical and theological context and what challenges it gives us today as we strive to offer hope beyond ourselves, beyond our walls, and beyond our comfort zones.
