We at the Green Bay Area Unitarian Universalist Fellowship acknowledge this land as the ancestral home of the Menominee and Ho-Chunk Nations. We recognize that this place holds historical, cultural, and sacred significance to these and other First Nations, and was taken through violent, coercive, and deceptive actions of European-American colonizers. We thank and honor the original caretakers of this land, as well as the sovereign First Nations of our region who continue to contribute to the flourishing of our communities. May the belonging we cultivate in our time here energize our efforts to uproot the systems of oppression from which many have benefited, and may we work to come into right relationship with this place, and with all Indigenous peoples.
