Our connection to the natural world is a deep and inherent bond that transcends time and space. It is a relationship that has shaped our existence for millennia. Do you want to learn more about your connection to the natural world? Join us in a book club to explore the spiritual connection in nature beyond religion as we read all types of books to help you explore your spirituality in a non-traditional way. All discussions are in person at GBAUUF. Open to the public!

September’s Selection:
World of Wonders: In Praise of Fireflies, Whale Sharks, and Other Astonishments
by Aimee Nezhukumatathil ©2020

In this collection of essays about the natural world, we learn the axolotl teaches us to smile, even in the face of unkindness; the touch-me-not plant shows us how to shake off unwanted advances; the narwhal demonstrates how to survive in hostile environments. Even in the strange and the unlovely, Nezhukumatathil finds beauty and kinship. For it is this way with wonder: it requires that we are curious enough to look past the distractions in order to fully appreciate the world’s gifts.
