Worlds beneath the Words: Practices for Deep Listening

Deep listening is essential for true intimacy — with ourselves, each other, and our world. In our rush to keep up with the pace of modern life, we humans can easily fall into more passive forms of engagement, leading to disconnection and divisiveness. Fortunately, deep listening is a capacity that can be cultivated. Join us as we explore three examples of deep listening practices that engage the mind, body, and the interconnected self.

Nicole is a somatic psychotherapist in private practice. She has also been involved in community re-weaving in a variety of ways over the years, including through permaculture, the Transition Movement, women’s circles, intentional community, Ecstatic Dance Milwaukee, and The Work That Reconnects (a set of practices that grew out of the deep ecology movement).
