Curiosity and the Women of Early Christianity

In the first centuries of the Christian religion, women constituted over three quarters of the membership. Most new members were drawn from the ranks of pagan women. There are many reasons why women were drawn to this new and very different faith. What was it about Christian beliefs that awoke in many women, especially among the poor and disadvantaged, the curiosity to seek out and become members of what could only be described as an unpopular cult in Roman society? Was it this awakened curiosity that led to the spread of Christianity across this ancient empire?
